We are a 24 hour vet hospital, and have vets and nurses on duty 24 hours per day, ready to assist you with your call. Or come to us – no appointment is needed. We are located in Collingwood at 5 Hood Street , enter off Hoddle Street, between Johnston and Gipps Streets (reference maps on our contact page).
We have an undercover pet-drop off area at the front of our animal emergency centre and you can drive right in. We have further undercover car spaces at the rear. Our trained staff will be in hand to assist your pet our of the vehicle as needed. We can also help you arrange an animal ambulance to come to your home, and our vets can then attend to your pet emergency immediately upon arrival. Vet open Sunday – and every day, 24 hours.
Common dog and cat emergencies that should be seen by a vet promptly include
- Sudden onset of vomiting or vomiting blood
- Dog or Cat hit by car
- Poisonings in dogs and cats including snail bait, rat bait, garbage toxicity, chocolate toxicity, macadamia toxicity, grapes or raisins, or Lilly toxicity (cats)
- Not eating
- Breathing difficulties
- Having a fit or seizure
